A Thought On Thanksgiving

Juicy turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, stuffing, casseroles, wine, a large variety of pie...not to mention the pre-dinner food like cheese and crackers, olives and cold cuts, oh and the after dinner cup of coffee of course. And then the annual Thanksgiving Day nap thanks to the tryptophan. It's all so exciting! And only 3 days away.

So we are having Thanksgiving dinner at my grandpa's house this year. This is our first Thanksgiving as a married couple. People have asked me if I am cooking. I respond with a laugh. HAHA! I don't feel I really need to be cooking Thanksgiving dinner at this point in my life. My turn to cook Thanksgiving dinner will be when I am a mother (to the most awesome kids ever by the way) and there is no one else around who is willing to do it, especially since my mom doesn't cook either. haha. That's when it will be my turn. I think I have a while. Just note, I will never stick my hand up the turkey's ass. Tim can do that! HAHA.

Anyway, back to this years Thanksgiving...
We are bringing our baby girl with us! Yep, Misha is coming to Thanksgiving! We will give her turkey in hopes she will fall asleep and be calm. Thanks again to the tryptophan!!

And then it's Christmas before you know it! And everyone knows I loooove Christmas. I could do without the cold weather. But even though winter is my least favorite season, Xmas is my favorite part of the year. Not because of presents (which I love to give and receive). But because of the closeness to family and friends. The holidays make me appreciate and be grateful for what I have and reflect on the year. Just makes me smile!

In closing, I bought some holiday scented candles today and it put me in the holiday state of mind. And my sister comes home tomorrow for a few days. And I have the rest of the week off!

xoxo,
kristen
