Morning Sickness Blues
But I keep telling myself I'm half way through my first trimester, and this part should all be over soon and then I can maybe enjoy it all a little more.
Tim is amazing. I definitely have the best husband in the whole world.
Not much else to update on. Just feeling like poo at the moment. And it's the last day of 2008. Here's hoping 2009 will be an amazing year!!

It's confirmed
I have my first appointment with my OB/GYN in January (either Tues. the 13th or the 20th...I was driving when I made the appt. so I don't really remember haha) at 2:15. I'll call as it gets closer to figure out which day. But yay! Hopefully by then we can hear the heartbeat.
I told my parents yesterday. No way could I have waited until Christmas like I said I was going to. My mom's first reactiong was "Awwww, poor Misha!" ha. She was joking of course but she's kind of obsessed with my dog just as much as I am. But she was happy of course. My dad is excited too. I think my sister had the most excited reaction of all of them. She even had some tears. Thanks Sherry, for the tears!! :) lol.
One more day of teaching before a much needed 2 week break! And Tim's off for 2 weeks too, so that'll be good. :)
Yay happy times!

We're having a baby!
Now I still have to go in for a blood test on Thursday to really confirm it and make it super official. But those pee on a stick tests do not lie. When I saw those two lines my jaw fell to the floor and all I could say was "oh my god oh my god oh my god...."
For the past couple of days I've been feeling a little "weird". And not to mention the whole missing my period thing kind of tipped me off. As of now I just have to pee a whole lot, and every now and then I feel very mildly queasy, and occasionally I feel SO tired I could fall asleep standing up. But otherwise I feel fine....for now. Just some nerves and excitement.
So yay! By this time next year we'll have a 3 or 4 month old and I will hopefully be skinny again! haha Crazy!!!
I will continue to update this on how I'm feeling and doctors appointments and all that jazz.
Many hugs,
Mama Bear and Papa Bear
p.s. How am I ever going to sleep tonight?!!!

17 days
Tim and I are doing well. He's going to Jersey this week (Tues.-Fri.) for work. Then we're going to Indiana during the weekend for the annual family get together on my dad's side. Should be fun to see everyone since we didn't get to go last year due to snow and bad roads. I have 2 more weeks of working before my 2 weeks off! Sherry comes home this Friday! Lots to be excited about!
Hope all is well with everyone. Stay warm!

39 Days, and we're ready!!
Went to the mall today. And you would have never guessed people were pinching their pennies because of the economy. I have NEVER seen the mall so crowded in my life. It was insane. And even when we went to Target, we could hardly find a place to park. It was crazy. So don't believe what you hear on the news. People really are out like crazy spending money. That's a good sign for sure :)
Love to all and have a great weekend!

Holy Nothingness Batman!
-Tim might have to go to Jersey on Sunday for a week. But probably not. But maybe. Silly unpredictable projects.
-Kristen has started dancing again. She is sore and happy to be back (and is losing weight WOOT!)
-We have found the perfect gorgeous and our first (but fake) pre-lit Christmas tree at Target and can't wait to get it next week and put it up the day after Thanksgiving and hang our Disney Xmas ornaments we got at Disney World when we went in August!
Honestly, that's all. See, boring. We need some drama or something big and exciting to happen so we can write in here and totally entertain a little better the few people who actually read this.

How we spend our evenings
Yesterday was Tim's birthday, and I was pleasantly surprised to see my sister at dinner (Texas Roadhouse baby...YEE HAW)! She showed up with my parents. My mom had brought her home from Hanover for the evening to be with us! So that definitely made my day yesterday. Love you sis! :) And Tim got a homemade apple pie from my aunt for his bday. While I'm not a fan of pie, I'm glad Tim got his homemade pie to tide him over until Thanksgiving. He only talks about it every day! HA!
Hope everyone had a great weekend and is keeping warm!
Also, gas price update. I filled up for $1.71 today. It cost me less than $20 to fill my tank, granted it wasn't all the way empty, but it was getting pretty close.

McCain's brilliant speech
"Thank you for coming here on this beautiful Arizona evening. My friends, we have come to the end of a long journey. The American people have spoken, and they have spoken clearly."
"A little while ago, I had the honor of calling Senator Barack Obama to congratulate him. To congratulate him on being elected the next president of the country that we both love. In a contest as long and difficult as this campaign has been, his success alone commands my respect for his ability and perseverance. But that he managed to do so by inspiring the hopes of so many millions of Americans who had once wrongly believed that they had little at stake or little influence in the election of an American president is something I deeply admire and commend him for achieving. This is an historic election, and I recognize the special significance it has for African-Americans and for the special pride that must be theirs tonight."
"I've always believed that America offers opportunities to all who have the industry and will to seize it. Senator Obama believes that, too. But we both recognize that, though we have come a long way from the old injustices that once stained our nation's reputation and denied some Americans the full blessings of American citizenship, the memory of them still had the power to wound."
"A century ago, President Theodore Roosevelt's invitation of Booker T. Washington to dine at the White House was taken as an outrage in many quarters. America today is a world away from the cruel and frightful bigotry of that time. There is no better evidence of this than the election of an African-American to the presidency of the United States."
"Let there be no reason now for any American to fail to cherish their citizenship in this, the greatest nation on Earth. Senator Obama has achieved a great thing for himself and for his country. I applaud him for it, and offer him my sincere sympathy that his beloved grandmother did not live to see this day. Though our faith assures us she is at rest in the presence of her creator and so very proud of the good man she helped raise."
"Senator Obama and I have had and argued our differences, and he has prevailed. No doubt many of those differences remain. These are difficult times for our country. And I pledge to him tonight to do all in my power to help him lead us through the many challenges we face. I urge all Americans who supported me to join me in not just congratulating him, but offering our next president our good will and earnest effort to find ways to come together to find the necessary compromises to bridge our differences and help restore our prosperity, defend our security in a dangerous world, and leave our children and grandchildren a stronger, better country than we inherited."
"Whatever our differences, we are fellow Americans. And please believe me when I say no association has ever meant more to me than that. It's natural, tonight, to feel some disappointment. But tomorrow, we must move beyond it and work together to get our country moving again. We fought - we fought as hard as we could. And though we fell short, the failure is mine, not yours."
"I am so deeply grateful to all of you for the great honor of your support and for all you have done for me. I wish the outcome had been different, my friends. The road was a difficult one from the outset, but your support and friendship never wavered. I cannot adequately express how deeply indebted I am to you."
"I'm especially grateful to my wife, Cindy, my children, my dear mother and all my family, and to the many old and dear friends who have stood by my side through the many ups and downs of this long campaign. I have always been a fortunate man, and never more so for the love and encouragement you have given me. You know, campaigns are often harder on a candidate's family than on the candidate, and that's been true in this campaign. All I can offer in compensation is my love and gratitude and the promise of more peaceful years ahead."
"I am also, of course, very thankful to Governor Sarah Palin, one of the best campaigners I have ever seen, and an impressive new voice in our party for reform and the principles that have always been our greatest strength... her husband Todd and their five beautiful children... for their tireless dedication to our cause, and the courage and grace they showed in the rough and tumble of a presidential campaign. We can all look forward with great interest to her future service to Alaska, the Republican Party and our country."
"To all my campaign comrades, from Rick Davis and Steve Schmidt and Mark Salter, to every last volunteer who fought so hard and valiantly, month after month, in what at times seemed to be the most challenged campaign in modern times, thank you so much. A lost election will never mean more to me than the privilege of your faith and friendship."
"I don't know what more we could have done to try to win this election. I'll leave that to others to determine. Every candidate makes mistakes, and I'm sure I made my share of them. But I won't spend a moment of the future regretting what might have been."
"This campaign was and will remain the great honor of my life, and my heart is filled with nothing but gratitude for the experience and to the American people for giving me a fair hearing before deciding that Senator Obama and my old friend Senator Joe Biden should have the honor of leading us for the next four years."
"I would not be an American worthy of the name should I regret a fate that has allowed me the extraordinary privilege of serving this country for a half a century. Today, I was a candidate for the highest office in the country I love so much. And tonight, I remain her servant. That is blessing enough for anyone, and I thank the people of Arizona for it."
"Tonight, more than any night, I hold in my heart nothing but love for this country and for all its citizens, whether they supported me or Senator Obama - I wish Godspeed to the man who was my former opponent and will be my president. And I call on all Americans, as I have often in this campaign, to not despair of our present difficulties, but to believe, always, in the promise and greatness of America, because nothing is inevitable here."
"Americans never quit. We never surrender. We never hide from history. We make history. Thank you, and God bless you, and God bless America. Thank you all very much."
John McCain, it is not your fault. You ran a good campaign, and Sarah was a breath of fresh air. You're still our hero and would have been a brilliant President. Thank you for everything you have done because of your love and commitment to this country and everything you stand for.

51 Days, 9 Hours, 51 Minutes till Christmas!!
Nothing new going on with Tim and I. I'm sure we'll have lots to say after tomorrow (election day, duh!), but for now mum's the word. Everyone go vote if you haven't already. Hopefully everyone's vote will be counted fairly (and hopefully just once haha) in every state no matter what.
The weather is actually really nice, in the 70's today! Welcome back Fall!! lol.
Since Heroes isn't on tonight sadly, we'll be watching the SNL special tonight. I think we could all use a little laughter right now!
Love to all!

Gas price update: $1.89 baby! Heck yes!

Happy Halloween!

Tomorrow is the first day of November! 2008 went by fast. Soon it'll be Thanksgiving and then Christmas, and then 2009 THANK GOODNESS. I am ready for this year to be over, and for June to get here so we can go on our vacation.
Also can't wait for this coming week to be over, especially Tuesday. I am really looking forward to this election stuff coming to an end. It's exhausting...all of it; the commercials, the phone calls, the pointless polls, keeping up with all the information. I'm sure we can all agree on that regardless of who we're rooting for.
Eat lots of candy! Until next time...

What happened to Autumn?
We tried really hard to keep our heat off, since our gas and electric bills are enormous. We were trying to save some money. But yesterday our house was as cold as it was outside (below 50), and no matter how many blankets we piled on top of ourselves we froze! So we turned it on to 65. That's not too bad, right? Here's hoping we don't have a $250 gas bill this month haha.
I hope everyone has a good Halloween. We're going to sit out and hand out candy to the kiddos with Misha in her little pumpkin costume (I always call her my pumpkin, so I figured the pumpkin costume was fitting). I'll post some pics of her in the costume this weekend.
Saturday Tim and I are going to see the musical (Once On This Island) at NKU with Jane and Ward. Then on Sunday I have to be at the MVDTA Fall Convention in Dayton for most of the day. Tim will most likely be here playing his new dorky Star Wars game he just got for the Xbox 360. haha. So that's our weekend pretty much.
Love to all!!

Life changes
High school wasn't a blast for me. The things I found important then just seems so silly and immature to me now. I was very sheltered (as most people in Loveland are) and self involved. By the end I was excited to be heading into a theatre program at NKU, and later a dance program at Wright State. But that's all I knew. I had no other interests. In other words, everyone told me, especially my parents, that I need to have something to fall back on. I never really made myself get interested in anything else, and I should have. When I wasn't in school (I was never a really big fan of school) I was in dance classes, or rehearsing for the spring musical, or doing choir concerts. See a trend? I was never very academic haha. Little did I know at the time, I should have listened to that whole having something to fall back on thing. But I was almost out of high school. Of course I was smarter than my parents then, duh!
But everything happens for a reason. If anything would have happened any differently, I may never have met Tim or ended up living back in Cincinnati again. Who knows where I'd be otherwise. And if I didn't have to have that knee surgery, I may still be who knows where trying to make it as a dancer in that harsh performing arts world struggling to make ends meat (although this extra poundage I've gained since then I could have done without). Sometimes I think of that knee surgery as a blessing. Looking back, I definitely wasn't ready for that world I was heading into. In my heart, I know I wasn't ready. But at times I still miss it, which I think I always will. It was all I knew. And now I can just do it for fun without the pressure of having to "make it"!!!
Now the things I find important are definitely different. And time seems to go by a lot faster now than I remember when I was younger. The little things in life make me the happiest. Family things make me happy. My life with Tim and our future possibilities make me happy. Back then I thought only old people watched the News. Nothing on the news could ever be more important than Beverly Hills 90210 or Dawsons Creek or watching Titanic over and over again haha. And now we watch the news all the time! The fact that we've talked about having kids in the next year or two and having an awesome home together is far different than where I was 6 years ago. 6 years ago I didn't think I would ever have time to have kids or even meet someone and get married because of the life I was headed for...you know, that whole struggling artist thing. haha.
Everything worked out for the best. And Tim has a similar story. Both of our stories brought us together. Life is funny, and awesome, and always changing. And everything you do today decides how tomorrow will play out. It's a very complex thought...too complex for me to continue to think about at midnight. :P
I have no idea why I wrote this. Tim's away, I'm lonely and bored, and my mind started churning. Maybe I can get Tim to write in here one of these days. lol.

Two weeks from today...
Tuesday=House and Fringe night! And did anyone see Heroes last night?!? Holy cow batman! If you don't watch Heroes, shame shame on you.
So, my mom found out today that she's going to lose her job at AIG. Honestly, this is not a big shock given everything we've heard in the news. She has about a month left of working there and then they're closing their location down. I hope she can find a job, especially before the cost of the holiday season takes its toll on everyone. Guess all that money the federal government gave to AIG (twice) was a huge waste of money. It certainly didn't help people like my mom keep their jobs. Instead, the heads of the company wasted it on expensive lavish excursions to all these places (and if you haven't heard about this, you really need to read up on the news more). Gee, another waste of our money by the federal government, shocker!
Anyway, keep my mom in your thoughts in hopes she can find another job soon.

kristen

It's sweater season
Tim's in New Jersey, and I'm bored and a little lonely. Nothing much to update on. Thursday needs to get here soon, and I'm sure it will. But as for tonight, I'll get all cozy on the couch in my pj's with the dog and watch Heroes! I need to clean and organize our closet (especially my side hahaha) and do lots of laundry. But I probably won't. :P
Anyone see Sarah Palin on SNL? I thought she was a good sport and did well. You could tell Tina Fey wanted nothing to do with her, but everything else was really funny. In case you missed it though, here's a link to the Palin Rap they did during Weekend Update. Definitely made me laugh, especially the guy in the moose costume!

p.s. Gas price update for those who read this from other areas. $2.43 a gallon for unleaded today!! It just keep going down, and I like it!! :)

We're lazy
But to keep everyone updated:
Tim and I are doing well. Tim's busy with a new important project at work. And he's starting his fall MBA class at Xavier next week. So he'll be even more busy than usual soon. Classes have started at the studio for me so I've been busy teaching lots and lots of little dancers :) Misha is doing well! We took her to a Reds game recently and it was a blast! Plus they won which was an added bonus!
I finally got a new car! My Malibu died tragically in May, there was no saving it. I went all summer without a car, as some of you know. Thanks to those family and friends who carpooled me places haha. So I got a 2008 Honda Civic LX. She's gorgeous! I named her Stella. She's a good car, and she gets amazing mileage. Which is even more awesome now that gas is down to $2.65 a gallon here and it keeps dropping!
I've been on a mission to lose 10-15 lbs. I never realized how much I need dance to keep me skinny! Working out at a gym or walking/running around the neighborhood just doesn't do it for me. I found my NYCB workout DVD's so I've gotta start on those. I'd like to take class every now and then but I am terrified of what I'll see in the mirror and I think that's keeping me out of the studio at the moment. I'm telling ya, staring at yourself in the mirror for almost 20 years judging yourself and having others judge you really messes with your head forever! haha. Anyway, the point is I gotta lose this extra stuff I've gained since that stupid knee surgery which caused me to stop dancing. My knee is better now, so no excuses, self!
We booked our summer 2009 vacation. June 15 we're going to Orlando for a week! A couple days at Universal Studios, then the rest of the time at Disney! I think about it every day, and I've got 241 days to wait. :P We joined the Hilton Grand Vacations Club so we'll be able to take some very nice vacations for the rest of our lives...we'll make some great memories and I can't wait! If anyone is interested in the vacation club let us know, we'll be glad to give you more info.
Life is going really well for us at the moment...as good as it can be at least. We're all healthy and happy and that's what matters most!
I seriously need to write in here more often, and I'll leave you with this incredibly adorable picture of Misha sitting on my lap in her pj's (i only had them on her for a picture, she hardly ever wears them, I promise haha).
So until next time...xoxo,
kristen
